Jason Companion, Head Coach
Trinity Christian High School
Jason Companion has spent the last two years as Club Director and head coach for Team IMUA "Wahines" Volleyball Club. He has been the captain for Team IMUA Adults for the past 15 years. From the beginning of his volleyball career back in 1988, he was trained and mentored by the finest volleyball mentor that the Monterey Peninsula has to offer, Coach Vince Rosa. He has twenty years of combined volleyball playing and coaching experience. Coach Jason assisted with coaching at Monterey High School, Seaside High School, Watsonville High School, and Monte Vista Christian High School. He has worked with numerous volleyball training camps at Monterey High School, Seaside High School, Monterey Peninsula College, Monte Vista Christian High School, Team Next Level Inc., The Monterey Sports Center and runs the Team IMUA Advance Volleyball camp during the summer. Jason has mentored both junior girls and boys to excel at the next level from Dvision I and II colleges and ultimately to the National and Professional level.
He has successfully achieved awards for winning the Boys 18 & Under NCVA Regional Championship, lead Team IMUA to 3 straight years at the 6' and under NCVA Open Division, and every Adult NCVA Regional and Far Western Division Championships thereafter. In 1991, Team IMUA 18-under Junior Boys was ranked #1 in all of Northern and Central California and #13th in the country. That year he was named All FAB 50 Volleyball Players in the country. Achieved an Open-AAA Outdoor/Grass and AA California Beach Association ranking. Jason is one of the original IMUA Volleyball players when the club first started back in 1988.
Coach Companion graduated with high honors from Heald Business College with and AAS in Computer Business Administration (1997). A Native of Ewa Beach (HI), Coach Companion now resides in Marina with his daughter Janelle Kalei Companion.
Dane Riggenbach, Assistant Coach

Coach Riggenbach is local Volleyball player with 26 years playing experience, referee experience and six years of coaching experience. Coaching for Pacific Grove High School Junior Varsity team in 1991, four years Varsity Women’s Coach at Carmel High School 1993-1997 a number of Monterey Peninsula College summer volleyball camps and most recently a season with Seaside’ Volleyball Club. Dane had been mentored and coached by as well as coached with The Monterey Peninsula’s volleyball guru, Vince Rosa. Coach Dane has played with, against, helped mentor and now has the opportunity to coach with Coach Jason Companion. A graduate of Monterey Peninsula Junior college and Owner of Key Magazine, Dane resides in Seaside and enjoys spending quality time with his wife Jane and daughter Logan.
